On April 24th 2013 the Rana Plaza in Dhaka, Bangladesh collapsed killing more than 1100 garment workers. In the aftermath of this tragedy, a grassroots movement, Fashion Revolution, is attempting to bring about education and change in the fashion industry. As a space that encourages revolutionary ideas, Bond Collective partnered with Fashion Revolution to produce a fashion editorial that delves into the question “Who Made My Clothes”. Photographer, Ben Lamberty captured Carolin Suedenhoof from Elite models in an entire wardrobe of ethical and consciously manufactured fashion. A pre-construction floor at Bond Collective 55 Broadway provided the somber atmosphere for stylist, Renata Gar’s layered and pensive mood with hair and makeup by Joseph Main and Liset Garza.

With the development of its latest NYC chapter, Fashion Revolution is expanding their mission westward with the help of Behno founder, Shivam Punjya. In partnering with Thr3efold, an ethical fashion brokerage founded by Jessica Kelly, Bond Collective was able to gather more than 200 guests to partake in a panel discussion about ethical and conscious garment production with the core question, “Who Made My Clothes?”. The event took place on Fashion revolution Day, which marked the fourth anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse. Bond Collective’s industrially stylish event space, The Mezzanine, was the perfect backdrop for an event that both celebrated and questioned the status quo of the fashion industry at large.
